Black cats are sometimes connected with bad luck and witches. You’ve heard if a black cat crosses your path, it’s bad luck. But besides their black fur, black cats are no different than any other cat. Scholars believe prejudice against cats in the middle ages caused people to kill them. In turn, that helped the spread of the Bubonic plague. Cats eat rats. Rats have fleas which carried the plague. With no cats, the rats flourished and so did the plague. Millions of people died. So cats can be good. I, Theresa Wise, have a nice, friendly black cat. He wouldn’t hold still for me to take his photo. So I used someone else’s photo.
