Countryside of Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland compares in size to Connecticut or Okanogan County, Washington. Imagine living on a wee (small) island all your life. “Wee” is one of their favorite words. It can refer to a wee cup of tea or anything even if it isn’t small. “A wee word,” means “I want to talk to you.” Driving on their country roads is another thing. First, they drive on the “wrong” side of the road. Well, maybe it’s us who drive on the wrong side. And their steering wheel is on the “wrong” side of the car. For many Americans, it takes a while to become comfortable driving in Ireland. Let’s add their narrow roads into the mix, which are similar to a one lane road. Car side mirrors are knocked off frequently. Remember their island is wee. Maybe that’s why their roads are narrow. The whole beautiful emerald isle of Ireland is about the size of Indiana. That includes Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. For more info, click on my October 17th post “Map of Ireland.” We love Ireland. It’s one of our favorite places to visit.
