Do African hyena’s laugh? They sound like they do. Many of their vocalizations are scary especially at night in the bush. Female hyenas have similar looking reproductive organs as males which makes it difficult to tell what sex they are. They often hunt in packs, are vicious, and equipped with good night vision. The hyena is more closely related to the mongoose ( pictured below) and cat, than the dog.
