Ron & Theresa Wise

Theresa grew up in the fifties in rural Vermont on a dairy farm. That’s where she learned to love nature and story-telling. She thought the snowy-looking television reception, the lack of books and toys were a detriment, but it caused her to use her imagination, which turned out to be a good thing.

When this shy girl graduated from high school, she joined her five older siblings in Burbank, California. That was a culture shock.

A year later, she fell in love, married and moved back to nature in central Washington. Two sweet daughters later she heard a message from a church that proved life-changing. It was another good thing for her.

In her twenties Theresa used her love of story-telling and her imagination to write a fiction novel. When it was finished about fourteen years later, she sent copies of her manuscript to publishers and literary agents. One responded, requesting that she shorten it. Due to divorce, that time in her life was filled with distress. So instead, she set the novel aside.

Theresa busied herself with college and work. Then she met Ron, fell in love a second time, married and moved to a small town in north-central Washington. She acquired her desired employment as administrative assistant. One of Theresa’s priorities was to reserve precious time with her grown daughters and grandchildren.

At fifty-nine, Theresa thought herself young enough to go on a two-week mission with her husband to Malawi, Africa. It proved to be an awesome experience, but afterward she slept twelve hours a day for three days.

Retirement meant freedom and time to finish The Captive, the book she started so long ago. Theresa blew off the dust and read it for the first time in twenty-five years. The story still touched her heart. She hopes it does the same for yours.

At the request of readers, The Captive has become a series, The Taken Trilogy. Book two Identity Lost  became a labor of love since it’s based on true events in the life of someone she knows. This remarkable story had to be told.

Book three, Trapped takes place in Auburn, Washington and Northern Ireland, a country that has dwelt with dissension. Theresa is excited about this third story and about what she might write after that.

All three books of The Taken Trilogy are now available in audiobook form on Amazon, Audible, and iTunes. These talented narrators delightfully bring the stories to life. It’s fun to listen to while you’re driving, washing dishes, or taking a walk, etc.

Theresa owes children’s book author, Susan Marlow, much gratitude for mentoring her in every aspect of writing. Her stories might not have been published if it wasn’t for Susan.

She is also grateful to her loving, very patient husband, Ron, for supporting her through it all.

Theresa’s appreciation also goes out to her family and many others for their help, especially to her heavenly Father.
